Paris Day II
Our second day in Paris was surprisingly cold. The weather forecast predicted sun and 20°C, but actually it was windy, rainy, cold and about 10°C the most. So I put on almost every layer I brought with me – ha! 😉
First stop this day was of course at a bakery to get some French petit-déjeuner – croissants and coffee. Yes, I had my best croissants there – they were so so good! Exploring a city mostly by foot and bike is the best I think, as you are able to see the most of it. The bakery was only a few blocks away from the Louvre and the Palais Royal, so we walked there first. After enjoying these beautiful places we rented some bikes to ride to the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe and to the Champs-Élysées. It was so much fun riding a bike through Paris! The Parisian have a really awesome system to get around by bike – after registering yourself via Internet you can rent bikes every 300 meters.
Best thing about this trip was to simply enjoy the city, people and life. As we have already been to Paris, we didn’t feel the pressure to go sightseeing. We just did what we wanted to do and sometimes we just wanted to sit in French coffee houses or restaurants and enjoy our time around French people.
