We’ve been in Alsace over the weekend and I can’t even tell you how much we were looking forward to this getaway. I was planning what to take with me in my head for weeks and was super excited to finally get going.

Of course I checked the forecast as I always do, but it was hard to tell how the weather would be as they predicted warm temperatures but with a lot of thunderstorms. So I decided to pack mainly summer cloths – especially ’cause we were going on vacation in May and I didn’t want to pack bad weather stuff. Haha! Lucky me, the weather was beautiful and warm and it only rained during the last night.

On the first vacation day we arrived in Colmar at noon and were simply strolling and exploring this cute town. We checked out the old market hall and walked along the river Lauch. They call this charming part of Colmar little Venice and it is really pretty. After a lot of walking we decided to give our feet a rest, sat down for a glass of delicious regional white wine and enjoyed the view.
